Hotels in Prague

Prague is the capital city of Czech Republic. One of the most prominent features of this city is that it has the Vltava River running through it. The city has also been called “the City of a Hundred Spires” because of the prominent architectural feature wherein most of the buildings and monuments end with a spire. One of the most popular locations in the city is the Old Town Square which is the heart of the historical district in Prague and it’s replete with baroque buildings, and monuments left behind from centuries ago. There are also several Gothic churches in the area. One of the other most popular landmarks in the city is the Astronomical Clock which features an animated show every hour on the clock. Another popular tourist attraction in the city is the Charles Bridge, which has been standing since 1402. While there are a lot of hotels in Prague, you should ideally find one that’s well connected to the rest of the main tourist attractions. In this article, I’ve compiled a list of the top 10 4-star hotels in Prague.

# 1

Romantik Hotel U Raka

Romantik Hotel U Raka is located in the Prague Castle District, and even though it’s a city hotel, it’s still extremely rustic and set up in the countryside. You’ll have to climb up the river quite a bit to get here. However, if you want a 4-star hotel surrounded by nature, in a quiet and solitary part of the city, this is the ideal choice for you. One of the best locational advantages of being here is that the popular Prague Castle is just an 8-minute walk away. Furthermore, the streets in the area are paved with cobblestones and that paints a wonderfully Romantic aesthetic, almost as if you were transported back in time. If you’re worried about transportation, you can rest assured that the nearest tram stop at Pohorelec is a short 5-minute walk away. The hotel has been established over the remnants of a series of cottages that resided here. Those cottages were renovated and refurbished in the late 1980s and turned into this hotel. As such, this hotel also feels quite authentic in its history. The hotel comes with a nice garden featuring several tables under the shade of trees. There’s an old well on the site as well. If you have any questions about traveling, the reception is always keen to help. There are six rooms in the hotel, and as might be expected, they feel natural and cottage-like. The walls are made of bricks, there’s a lot of wrought ironwork in place, and wooden furniture. The paintings lining the walls also feed into the romance of a rustic life. The flat-screen TV almost feels out of place in this bucolic cottage. You get served complimentary breakfast in the snack room, or you can have it served in the room as well. It comprises eggs and sparkling wine.

The Nicholas Hotel

The Nicholas Hotel is a small and intimate 4-star hotel located in the center of Mala Strana and is right next to the popular baroque-style Church of St Nicholas. Other popular tourist attractions in close proximity are the Charles Bridge and Prague Castle. The latter of these is located about 10 minutes uphill. The tram stop is also right outside the hotel and as such you’re perfectly connected to the rest of the city. Regardless of that, this neighborhood is in one of the prime tourist areas, and as such, there’s plenty of attractions, cafes, restaurants, and clubs around here. This hotel has been established on the upper floor of what was once a Rococo palace back in the 1700s. As such, the hotel still holds on to that piece of heritage by retaining certain key aspects of the aesthetics, such as the wooden doors, timber beams, vaulted ceilings, etc. However, it has been updated with the introduction of modern amenities and furnishings. The reception area in the hotel merely comprises a desk and a sofa, however, the staff is always willing to help in any way possible, and they can make all your reservations and bookings for you. A good example of their hospitality is that they offer a glass of wine to all guests who come in. There are nine rooms in the hotel, out of which several of them are suites. The rooms are luxuriously decorated with parquet flooring and furniture. They are also quite spacious, feature a fully-equipped kitchenette, and a minibar stocked with snacks and drinks. The bathrooms are equally luxurious and stylish, and if you get one of the advanced suites, you also get a soaking tub with your shower.
